Bernard Building Center strives to price Packages based on the highest building standards. Each project is unique, however, and pricing may adjust for reasons such as local building codes, assorted soil conditions, and snow load requirements that vary in different regions of our state. The Current Pricing list is intended only to give a general idea of project materials cost. Please speak to a Project Sales representative about your specific project needs.

What's included in a Package?

Our Packages are simply a list of materials needed to build the rough-in Package using traditional building practices and the Michigan Building Code. The materials have been adjusted through years of selling these Packages to be as close as possible with the necessary materials. That said, there are many different ways to build things. Some people will run short on material while others will have extra. ​

 

We suggest sitting down with your builder to review the list of materials. We can add or subtract any items that you choose to change, and we will adjust the price accordingly.  Special Order items, in particular, must be reviewed thoroughly to ensure they'll be exactly what you want. Most Special Order items we sell are not returnable per the policies of our manufacturers and wholesalers.

What is NOT included in a Package?

Our rough-in Packages do not include labor, concrete, brick, insulation, drywall, paint or stain, electrical, heating, plumbing fixtures, cabinets, any or all materials not itemized on the Bernard Building Center material list. Please see your Project Sales representative for actual plan and package details.

​Do the Packages come with plans?

When you purchase the Package materials from us, the plans for that Package are included.

What if I want my own design?

We offer a design service (at the Hale location only at this time).  We can alter plans from an existing Package, or take your ideas and create plans from scratch. (Design fees apply; please ask for more details.) The designs can be sent electronically for review and approval. If you already have your own plans, that's fine, too. We will be glad to sell you the materials needed complete your project. 

 

What if I need more materials? 

No problem! Additional materials will be sold at the current retail price.

What if I have extra materials or change my mind on something?

Any stock inventory purchased from us may be returned in good condition for a full refund of the price the customer paid. A copy of the Invoice is required to return materials. Prices fluctuate, and we want to be certain you receive the entire amount you originally paid for each returned item.

What happens if materials get dirty or damaged and I want to return them?

Once materials have been picked up or delivered to a job site, it is the customer's responsibility to keep those materials clean and dry. Dirty, wet or damaged materials (including nail holes) are not returnable. In some cases, Special Order items may be returnable with a re-stocking fee deducted per manufacturer or wholesaler policy. However, most Special Order items are not returnable.
