Cabinetry
From start to finish… we help make your dreams come true.
Our experienced, knowledgeable, dedicated designers listen to your needs, inspirations and dreams while personalizing the defining style that meets your budget and cabinetry requirements.
Bernard’s Kitchen and Bath showrooms offer extensive displays, free consultations, Saturday hours, in-home measuring, and design service of your dream kitchen or bath.
We carry the finest cabinetry, surfaces, hardware, and flooring from National brands, but also carry locally made cabinetry to meet your budget and cabinetry requirements.
We design and plan kitchens, bathrooms, and other rooms with the industry’s leading design software, Prokitchen. With cutting-edge features, incredibly realistic 3D renderings and thousands of flexible items from manufacturer catalogs we bring your design ideas to life. Created specifically for kitchen and bath industry professionals, this CAD software’s built-in rules ensure that projects comply with industry design standards, from start to perfect finish.
Decks & Outdoor Living
For stunning outdoor living spaces, look no further than Bernard Building Center. We carry the most sought after top national brands of decking, railing, and landscape supplies to construct your own outdoor oasis.
Our experienced, dedicated designers listen to your needs while personalizing the defining style that meets your budget and outdoor living space requirements.
Bernard’s will work with you from the planning stage right through the construction of your project. We offer deck design service and estimates once the design is finished.
We carry the finest treated lumber*, Timbertech decking and railing system, and have many other National brands available by special order.
*Our treated lumber in 2x4 and 2x6 is a #2&BTR appearance grade. This means that the lumber is select pulled to be a better product for your project. Our treated 5/4x6 decking is available in two wood species, Ponderosa Pine which will have knots and a #1 Premium S. Y. Pine decking that will be almost all clear with a pin knot here and there.
Starting in the spring of 2016 we changed our treated lumber inventory from “Above Ground contact” (the Treated lumber shouldn’t come in contact with the ground) to “Ground contact” (the lumber has a heavier dose of treatment to be in contact with the ground). We feel that the “Ground contact” Treated Lumber is more of what are customers are expecting when they purchase Treated Lumber.
Estimating Services
Bernard Building Center is known throughout N. E. Michigan for the quality and detailed estimates that we provide. Our Project Sales Staff will provide an estimate that you can depend on.
We also provide design services at our Hale location. We take your ideas and turn them into plans for your new dream home. The designs can be sent electronically for review and approval.
Our Project Sales Department also has Blueprint copy services available in Hale and Cheboygan.
The Project Sales staff is always looking for structural issues, code requirements, product performance, and product alternatives to help save you money and in the end have the best project possible.
Flooring

Our knowledgeable flooring experts listen to your needs and will recommend products that meets your budget and style.
Bernard’s flooring departments (Hale, Hillman, and Cheboygan) offer extensive displays, free consultations, Saturday hours, in-home measuring, and quotes on a single room or your whole house.
We carry the finest carpet, vinyl, laminate, hardwood, and ceramic from National brands to meet your flooring needs.
Homeowner Services
We are with you every step of the way. From the planning stage to the last day of construction. We will help you find the products and solutions that will make your home special.

Our stores are clean, bright, and offer a comfortable environment for customers, builders, and homeowners to obtain product information, solutions, and answers to their questions.

Our sales and project sales staff are dedicated professionals with many years of experience to offer you personalized service and attention.

Delivery service runs six days a week by our large delivery fleet. Same day or next day delivery is usually available. We deliver anywhere in Michigan. Please ask for details; delivery fee and fuel surcharge will apply.
Paint Department
Our paint experts have many years of experience in paint, they will help you choose the right paint product for your project. Our paint departments have won consecutive paint purchase awards since 2005.
All four of our stores offer computer color matching, we scan your sample and mix paint (interior or exterior) to color match it. The paint computer also stores your paint color choices for reference in the future if needed.
Our Paint Department has a large selection of paints and finishes from National Manufacturers. The paint lines we offer are: Cabot, Kilz, Krylon, Minwax, Pratt & Lambert (Cheboygan only), Rust-Oleum, Sachco, Sikkens, Superdeck, Valspar, Woodlife, Zar, Zinsser.

Select a curbside pickup time
You and your salesperson will choose a time that works best for everyone based on your order. You'll be asked to describe your vehicle.
Pay for your order by phone
Curbside orders can be placed on a credit card or your Bernard account.
Drive up to the curb at pickup time. We'll bring it out and load up your order!
Curbside Service FAQs
Is there any extra cost or a minimum order for Curbside Service?
Not at all. We're happy to help!
How long does it take before my Curbside order is ready?
You will choose a pickup time with the salesperson when you place the order. We do need a minimum of 15 minutes, and additional time is helpful.
Can I pay cash for my order when I arrive to pick up?
Unfortunately, no. Curbside orders must be paid with a credit card or Bernard account at the time that the order is placed.
What if I need something from the yard?
No worries! You will pick up any in-store items curbside, then drive around to the yard to get the rest.
